I am an intuitive astrologer & tarot reader, but this wasn’t the career path I initially chose.
Originally, from Des Moines, Iowa, I graduated from the University of Iowa with a B.A. in Psychology in 2020, and then went on to earn my Masters’ in Social Work from Simmons University in Boston. After not even six months of working full-time in the field of social work, I started to feel that something wasn’t right. I was exhausted constantly, my mental health was suffering, and I felt like I was never making any real change. The systems I was working within were so broken, it felt like my work lacked purpose, and left me feeling drained.
Around this time, I began contemplating how I could find more fulfillment outside of my work. I started trying different hobbies (pottery, yoga, to name a few), and quickly settled on astrology as a major interest of mine. Simply put, I was a woman obsessed. My thirst for more astrology knowledge was insatiable. A fire was lit within. I began enrolling in courses, listening to podcasts, reading books, and following all the astrologers I could find on social media. After a year and a half of trial and error, by the start of 2024, I had attained something I would never have thought possible for myself even a few years prior. I had launched my own business as a certified astrologer.

Throughout my experience starting my astrology business, I consistently received one question — “Do you do tarot readings?” My answer every single time was, “No. I’m just an astrologer. They’re different.” After a while, I started to even feel a sense of resentment when people would ask me this. Wasn’t astrology enough? Why didn’t people see my passion for the complex and intricate study of the stars the way I did? What was so great about tarot, anyway?
Now, I say that as someone who has been pulling tarot & oracle cards for myself and close friends for several years at this point. I follow many tarot readers on YouTube, and I even have a particular reader of my own that I trust and purchase readings from occasionally. I think the practice is beautiful and enlightening and extremely helpful. What I felt disgruntled by was that, after a year of being officially open for business, my astrology income wasn’t consistent or anywhere near enough to sustain myself. It began to become more and more apparent that I needed to pivot within my business. But how?
Eventually, I decided that it wouldn’t be the end of the world if I gave tarot readings a chance. I sent out a plea to my friends and followers to let me practice on them for a donation-based rate. If I hate it, I can always try something else. It’s safe to say I did not hate it. I did 18 practice readings in as many days, and I felt more alive and invigorated than I had in months. I felt a change within me when I opened myself up to the tarot. My intuition grew louder and more clear. Suddenly, the path ahead felt incredibly clear. This was the moment I had truly been being prepared for.
Why tarot?
This photo was taken an event I gave birth chart readings at in 2024. I was the only astrologer there, and I mingled with the tarot readers and had so much fun. I also felt a pang of jealousy at the way people would flock to the tarot readers over the birth chart readings. I’ve learned by now to analyze whenever jealousy comes up for me. What is it that someone else has that I don’t believe is possible for me? A seed had been planted.
my astrology approach
I utilize a spiritual evolutionary astrology approach. This approach acknowledges that human beings have free will, and they express their birth charts, consciously or unconsciously, in variably many ways. Essentially, you are in the driver’s seat of your own life and experience. An awareness of astrology is key to fully unlocking our birth chart potential, and it can be incredibly helpful to us at significant crossroads moments in our lives. Astrology can help us align more wholly with the direction our soul is seeking to grow in. As our soul grows and learns, our consciousness rises, and so does that of the collective.
The values of justice, authenticity, and community strongly drive my work. My social work background has shaped me in so many ways, and it allows me to bring a unique perspective to my readings. I aim to infuse my astrology practice with the same care and compassion I embodied in my counseling work. I am passionate about helping people access the tools they need to step into their power.
